R.A.P.I.D Trailers

Overview of Trailers:

The mobile units known as R.A.P.I.D (Recover, Assist, Prepare, Inform, and Distribute) trailers, will serve as a resource for both preplanned community events and festival and disaster response efforts in Linn County.

Originally developed through a collaboration between the Linn County Sustainability Department and the Linn County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), these mobile resiliency and response units are designed to support both "blue skies" activities, such as community events and "grey skies" situations during emergencies.

The R.A.P.I.D. trailers will be deployed to disaster-impacted communities, providing critical information and charging stations to residents in need. By strategically moving resources into affected areas, the mobile units help ensure that communities have access to essential services when traditional infrastructure may be compromised.

This project is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) dollars that were allocated by the Linn County Board of Supervisors to Linn County Sustainability operations.

Mission of Trailers:

1. Support Community Recovery: Deploy during emergencies and disasters to provide essential services such as power, connectivity, and information to affected communities.

3. Assist Vulnerable Populations During Emergencies: Ensure access to critical services for communities that may be disproportionately impacted during extreme weather events or emergencies.

5. Bridge the Gap During Disruptions: Provide temporary access to power, communication tools, and a safe gathering space when traditional infrastructure is unavailable or overwhelmed.
