FAQ

Linn County Community Emergency Response Team

Linn County is a part of the national network of CERT communities.  The Linn County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organizations, and disaster medical operations.  CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

Did you know…

There is a very good chance that you will be on your own during the early stages following catastrophic disasters.

After a catastrophic disaster, citizens will volunteer to help.  Without proper training these people can expose themselves to potential injury and even death!

Experience has shown that basic training in disaster survival and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive until responders or other assistance arrives.
